Ellen Carlson has gained respect from her peers and students as an accomplished performer and teacher across multiple styles. Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine called her “an exceptionally talented musician” for her work with the acoustic roots group High Range and gave her a coveted highlight review for her solo album “People I Play With”.
Fiddler magazine picked one of her tunes, “Waiting for You”, as a winner in their tune contest as well as for publication and published her article on “Tips for Better Practicing”. Ellen has taught at Pete Wernick's jam camps, and at various festivals including Grey Fox, Joe Val, Pemi Valley and Fiddle Hell (of course). She is a member of the NH State Council on the Arts Education Roster. Ellen leads the NH Fiddle Ensemble (featured on WMUR’s Chronicle) with over 60 members and runs Fiddleheads Acoustic Jam Camp. She would like to inspire people of all ages to play and to learn to enjoy the many facets of fiddling as well as making music together.
Get up early to join Ellen, who leads the early Warmup sessions each day at FH.
