Privacy Policy for Fiddle Hell

Fiddle Hell Massachusetts LLC does not knowingly share the names, contact information, or other personal information of participants of any age, including those 12 and under, with third-party advertisers or businesses.  Fiddle Hell Massachusetts LLC does share general information and content related to Fiddle Hell In-Person ("FHIP"), Fiddle Hell Online ("FHO") and other folk music events with individuals who have provided their contact information or connected with Fiddle Hell Massachusetts LLC through social media using platforms including but not limited to: email (primarily MailChimp), social media (primarily Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube), and the online platforms being used for FHO and FHIP in 2020-2024 (Whova, which integrates with Zoom).  If you have questions about personal information privacy, you can contact David Reiner by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., by phone at 781-863-0140, or by mail at Fiddle Hell Massachusetts LLC, P.O. Box 316, Lexington, MA 02420-0316.

All participants in FHO have the right to disable their audio and video, and to anonymize their display name (e.g., by changing it to “Anon”) at any time in live Zoom meetings through Zoom controls during FHO. When replaying a previously recorded video, participant audio and video cannot be enabled, so such disabling or anonymizing is not necessary or possible. Participants agree as part of the mandatory Attendee Agreement (agreed to by actively checking the associated checkbox during registration, or by signing the online Waiver Form later, or by participating in FHO) that if they enable audio and video, then livestream feeds and recordings of their audio, video, and still image may be audible and visible to others attending FHO sessions, during the event and for 4 months after the event, and they give their permission for these feeds and recordings to be audible and visible. Participants in FHO or FHIP also give permission for their comments in chats, session Q&A, and community discussion boards to be visible to others. Fiddle Hell Massachusetts LLC, its members, managers, officers, employees, independent contractors, agents, representatives, and assigns may use photographs, audio, and videos of participants for promotional purposes. Detailed language specific to such usage is included in the mandatory Attendee Agreement, also referred to as the "Waiver Form".

When someone registers for FHO or FHIP, some or all of the following personal information is collected as part of the required registration process: full name, email address, age group, number of times previously attended Fiddle Hell, instrument(s) played, country, state, city or town (optional), time zone, primary device for online access (optional) and comments (optional).  Additionally, payment information is securely collected as necessary for credit card payments (online) or payments by check (by mail).  This information is collected directly; no cookies are used.  This information may be used for purposes including but not limited to: contacting you with your registration confirmation and other relevant information for participation in FHO or FHIP, informing future Fiddle Hell programming choices, making announcements related to Fiddle Hell and other folk music events.
